About the Semaglutide Weight Loss Program
What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is the compounded version of Ozempic, though dosages vary for each medication. Dr. Rudderman obtains our compounded Semaglutide from the same compound pharmacies that we have used for years for medications used throughout our practice. Compound pharmacies are required to maintain strict standards and create compound medications daily to help with multiple areas of medical concerns. With compounded Semaglutide, each patient’s medication is prepared specifically for them, and drawn up in individual syringes.
Semaglutide acts as a GLP-1 hormone (made in your small intestine) to help slow down the movement of food through your stomach while increasing the feeling of fullness so you eat less.
Semaglutide may also act on the hunger areas of your brain to decrease your appetite. When used appropriately by qualified candidates, Semaglutide can lead to significant weight loss.
