Skincare Recommendations for Rosacea Awareness Month
The National Rosacea Society (NRS) designates April as Rosacea Awareness Month. This designation is used to educate the public on this chronic and widespread facial disorder. In total, Rosacea affects more than 16 million Americans.
Here are our recommendations to help calm and soothe the skin affected by Rosacea:
1) Skin resurfacing for lasting reduction of redness and flushing: ⠀
- Quanta Light EVO or Suprema Laser treatment
- IPL Photofacial treatment
- BBL Treatment, which is an RF Laser treatment with LED light-based therapy
- Professional dermaplaning
2) Skin Hydration to help plump and replenish the moisture in the skin:
- Hydrafacial treatment
- Low-percentage glycolic acid peels
- Keeping a serum routine to prevent flare-ups
3) Ingredients to look out for in your skincare:
- Vitamin C helps strengthen capillaries (fewer broken capillaries = less noticeable redness)
- Hyaluronic Acid forces hydration in the skin
- Niacin helps reduce redness
4) Things to avoid:
- Avoid physical exfoliators
- Avoid products that contain alcohol, menthol, witch hazel, perfumes, and exfoliating agents
- Use only very gentle cleansers.
- Look for moisturizers for sensitive skin
- Protect yourself from the sun by using mineral-based sunscreen
5) Product Recommendations which are available in our online store:
- ZO Skin Health Rozatrol Redness Control Serum ⠀
- ISDIN Melatonik Night Serum⠀
